According to the economic operation data of China's plastic processing industry from January to May this year recently released by the National Bureau of statistics, the main indicators of the industry showed a restorative growth trend, and the decline narrowed month by month; Production and operation are recovering in an orderly manner. Specifically, the monthly output increased significantly year-on-year. From January to may, according to the summary statistics of China's plastic processing industry, the cumulative output of enterprises was 27.554 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 4.17%, which was 10.11 percentage points narrower than that from January to April. In terms of monthly output, it achieved positive growth in March, with a year-on-year increase of 6.12%; In April, it increased by 6.15% year-on-year; In May, it increased by 5.74% year-on-year.

The accumulated profit achieved positive growth. From January to may, the cumulative profit of China's plastic processing industry was 38.043 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 11.99%, ranking third among the 18 categories of light industry, 18.72 percentage points higher than the light industry and 31.29 percentage points higher than the national industry. Among them, the cumulative profit of plastic film manufacturing increased by 37.82% year-on-year. The profit margin of operating income was 5.71%, an increase of 0.89 percentage points over the same period of the previous year, 0.71 percentage points higher than that of national industry.

The scale continues to increase and the proportion of benefits increases. By the end of May, the number of Enterprises above Designated Size in China's plastic processing industry had reached 16308, 473 more than 15835 at the end of 2019; The cumulative profit accounted for 2.06% of the country, an increase of 0.58 percentage points over the same period last year; It accounted for 9.17% of light industry, an increase of 1.72 percentage points over the same period last year.

The decline in cumulative exports narrowed further. According to the statistics of the General Administration of customs, from January to may, the cumulative export volume of plastic products in China was US $27.878 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 2.7%, which was 1.43 percentage points lower than that from January to April.
